About the Role We are seeking a dynamic Commercial Senior Specialist to lead merchandising and sourcing initiatives for one of the region’s largest businesses. This senior role offers the chance to own end-to-end responsibilities, build a team from the ground up, and shape strategies that drive growth in Saudi Arabia’s thriving e-commerce and retail landscape. Key Responsibilities Lead merchandising and sourcing efforts, curating product assortments that align with market demands and customer preferences, while staying competitive alongside industry leaders such as the Target Company*. Develop and execute sourcing strategies to optimize supplier relationships, negotiate favorable terms, and ensure cost efficiency—benchmarking against best practices from retailers as the Target Company* . Analyze sales data, market trends, and customer insights (including behaviors on platforms like Hunger Station) to inform product selection, pricing strategies, and inventory management. Build and lead a high-performing team, establishing workflows and processes to scale operations from 0 to 1 in a market with players like Target Company* Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, marketing, and logistics teams to align commercial goals with supply chain efficiency, ensuring seamless integration with regional retail ecosystems. Knowledge & Skills Industry Experience: Prior experience in e-commerce or retail in the Target Company*with a deep understanding of merchandising, sourcing, and supply chain dynamics in the Middle East. Analytical Acumen: Strong ability to interpret numerical data, analyze market trends across platforms, and translate insights into actionable strategies. Organizational Skills: Proven track record of managing complex projects, prioritizing tasks, and delivering results in a fast-paced environment—critical for competing in a market with players. Financial Literacy: Familiarity with budgeting, cost analysis, and profitability metrics to optimize sourcing and merchandising decisions. Communication & Negotiation: Excellent English proficiency (verbal and written) with the ability to negotiate effectively with suppliers and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels. Act as a BD professional, responsible for pioneering the Saudi market from 0 to 1, analyzing industry trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs in the target market. Onboard local B2B merchants in sectors such as HR recruitment, second-hand trading, 3C electronics, and real estate agencies to the platform, driving user growth for lifestyle services in Saudi Arabia. Manage the end-to-end local business model, from merchant onboarding and renewals to commercialization. Identify key opportunities and challenges for boosting brand awareness, user base, revenue, and product growth in overseas markets. Gain deep insights into market dynamics and cultural differences, collaborating with other teams to ensure a consistent yet personalized experience for international users. Achieve company targets related to merchant onboarding, post frequency, demand generation, DAU, user retention, and other KPIs. Job Requirements Prior work and living experience in Saudi Arabia, with familiarity in local business practices and lifestyle culture. Deep expertise and resources in at least one of the following sectors: HR recruitment, second-hand trading channels, 3C electronics channels, or real estate agencies. Proven ability and experience in pioneering new markets from scratch (0 to 1). Strong cross-departmental collaboration skills to align teams and achieve goals. Proficiency in English as a working language; Arabic proficiency is a plus.
