Core C++ Community, we are excited to invite you to our ONLINE event! This time we will have quick update on the status of C++26/29, followed by two great talks about AI, from Noam and Yair. Last but not least, we will have our Show & Tell section, during which YOU can share your favorit C++ story, bug, or joke :) :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: Agenda: 18:15 - **Gathering and socializing** 18:30 - **Welcome notes,** Adi Shavit 18:45 - **C++26/29 updates,** Inbal Levi 19:00 - **Hiring in the age of LLMs,** Noam Weiss 19:30 - **AI Close Encounters of the Third Kind,** Yair Friedman 20:00 - **Show & Tell,** YOU! :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: #### Hiring in the age of LLMs The rise of large language models in recent years is having a big impact on our everyday lives as developers - and that includes the hiring process. In this talk we will explore what are the qualities that are (or should) be looked for in a candidate today, and we can test and demonstrate them. :: :: :: **Noam Wiess** Noam works with C++ for over two decades. He is still excited about brilliant code. :: :: :: #### AI Close Encounters of the Third Kind "AI can write code for you" has become a ubiquitous claim in today's tech landscape. But how does this promise hold up in practice? This presentation examines real-world encounters with AI chatbots in coding scenarios, exploring curious phenomena including emojis, flattery, SOOP, and other surprising, sometimes amusing, patterns in AI-generated code. Drawing from these practical encounters, I'll present key findings about the current state of AI-assisted programming and what these interactions reveal about both the capabilities and quirks of today's coding AI systems. :: :: :: **Yair Friedman** Yair is a seasoned software engineer and architect with over three decades of C++ expertise, specializing in embedded systems, co-processor software design, and application interfaces. He is an expert in legacy-code modernization, known for safe, low-risk migrations to modern C++ standards. Yair also teaches modern C++ practices, helping teams improve performance and maintainability. As a defensive cyber-security specialist, he strengthens systems through proactive, secure programming. Outside work, he pursues a scholarly interest in ancient Semitic languages. :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: **Show & Tell** This is YOUR chance to tell us about a cool bug, a new library you've worked on, or even just tell us your best C++ joke. Everyone are welcome to give a talk! :) :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: This is an **ONLINE** event. Link will be published on the day of the event. (Thanks to Amir Kirsh for orginizing the event)
