

A surveillance camera installation technician is a technical specialist responsible for designing, installing, and maintaining video surveillance systems (CCTV). Their work begins with assessing the site to determine optimal camera locations and cable routing, taking into account viewing angles and coverage of sensitive areas. The technician installs wiring, mounts indoor and outdoor cameras, and connects them to recording devices (DVR/NVR) and display monitors. They must also program the system, connect it to the network, configure settings for remote access, and ensure video quality and recording reliability. This role requires skills in electrical work, networking, basic cybersecurity, as well as adherence to safety standards to guarantee efficient and effective system operation for protecting property and individuals.
