Duel Discussion: Reputation and Public Opinion on the Balance – Should I Even Care?

In our societies, reputation and others' opinions are almost among the most significant drivers of behavior for the majority of individuals, and among the main deterrents preventing them from engaging in many actions—even if they are personally convinced of them. Here, individuals often consider "what people think" to a degree that may even surpass their regard for themselves, from their daily actions to their most critical life decisions. Many of us do not necessarily view this as negative, given that humans are inherently "social beings," and thus, it may not be entirely within their control to disregard others' opinions about them. We will explore this matter from entirely different perspectives, attempting to dive deep into the core of this idea, broadening our horizons, and expressing our thoughts in a space free from judgment and labeling. Discussion Format: Each person will discuss the topic with another individual for 9–10 minutes to hear more transparent and honest perspectives, then switch to another person until six rounds are completed.
