Dual Discussion: Reputation and Public Opinion on the Balance – Should I Not Care About Them?

In our societies, reputation and others' opinions are almost among the most important drivers behind the behaviors of the majority of individuals, and among the main deterrents preventing them from engaging in many actions—even if they are personally convinced of them. Here, individuals often consider "what people think" to a degree that may exceed their consideration of themselves, ranging from daily behaviors to life-changing decisions. Many of us do not necessarily view this as negative, given that humans are inherently "social beings," and thus it may not be entirely within their control to disregard others' opinions about them. We will discuss this matter from entirely different perspectives, attempting to dive deep into the core of this idea, broadening our understanding and expressing our thoughts in a space free from judgment and labeling. Discussion Format: Each person will discuss the topic with another individual for 9-10 minutes to hear more transparent and honest perspectives, then switch to another person until six rounds are completed.
