Operational Efficiency Ensure vessels operate with minimum downtime and maximum utilization. Troubleshoot engine and machinery defects and carry out necessary repairs promptly. Technical Follow-up and Maintenance Conduct daily technical follow-up on assigned ships. Coordinate and adjust weekly/monthly maintenance work lists in consultation with the Captain, Chief Engineer, and Technical Manager. Monitor the technical performance of vessels through communication, reports, and onboard visits to optimize maintenance levels. Prepare repair specifications for subcontractors and oversee execution of repair works. Collaborate with the Technical Manager for daily technical follow-up of auxiliary equipment. Assess technical deficiencies or wear and tear, recommending improvements in consultation with the ship’s senior engineering team and Technical Manager. Stock and Inventory Management Monitor abnormal consumption of onboard inventory and consumables. Manage onboard inventory levels and coordinate technical orders with third-party suppliers. Source reliable local alternatives for urgent purchases in coordination with the Technical Manager, Supply Chain Management (SCM), and Chief Engineer. Repairs and Dry Docking Schedule and supervise vessel repairs, dry docking, and statutory surveys. Prepare docking specifications and budgets, control costs during docking and repairs. Compile final docking cost summaries and reports. Liaise with clients, charterers, and classification surveyors on technical and operational matters. Commission new vessels and oversee sea trials. Technical Administration and Documentation Draft, review, and verify engineering designs, drawings, technical specifications, and documentation. Review engine and deck logs; prepare log summaries and reports. Monitor fuel oil (FO) and lubricating oil (LO) consumption and analyze operational data. Utilize the in-house Planned Maintenance System (Poseidon or similar) for defect tracking and maintenance planning. Ensure all reporting requirements on board are accurate and compliant. Requirements Minimum Engineering Degree; Holder of Chief Engineer Certificate (or equivalent). Valid Class 1 Certificate of Competency (COC) Unlimited. At least 1–2 years of experience in the marine industry. Minimum 1 year of experience working with Aramco and/or ADNOC projects or vessels.
