Description

As the Director of Road Design at Qiddiya Investment Company, you will play a crucial role in the development and implementation of innovative and sustainable road infrastructure projects that support the company's vision of creating a world-class entertainment and cultural destination. Key Responsibilities Lead (at Project level) the provision of Transport data to Transport projects to inform system design. Lead (at Project level) the phasing plan and measurement against capacity of networks to inform when roads and transport systems need to be activated to meet development phasing. Lead Roads projects assigned by development. Lead Parking projects assigned by development, (e.g., park & ride, temporary parking, parking structure) Lead (at Project level) engagement with key stakeholders to ensure integration with regional mobility. Lead (at Project level) the informing and testing of development controls via Traffic Impact Studies at district, asset or precinct level. Lead all internal and external governance (including any authority or government agency) interactions including (but not limited to) those required for approvals, stakeholder interaction etc. Lead all activities required to undertake your responsibilities, including (but not limited to) consultant procurement, management and contract management, committee presentations, gateway approvals etc. Lead preparations for opening and operational readiness scenarios specific to transport modes. Lead the preparation of impact assessments as a result of changes or other factors, including the impacts on cost, time and quality. Lead the support of all other job families as necessary. Lead a central road design (including roads, parking, bridges, structures etc) resources to support planning, design review and project development to master developers. Lead (Roads Design) the management of the adoption process for roads (including parking, bridges etc,) systems to either National Champions, the Private Sector or Master Developer Operations. Support the management of all roads and transport planning digital information and digital datasets to provide to the Digital Information team and incorporate into central GIS database, and ensure BIM and GIS integration with other platforms (i.e., Unreal Engine). Support preparation and management of any and all road design consultant shortlist, including regular review, supplier interface on performance and updates as necessary. Support strategic approaches to design consultant shortlist considering future lookaheads. Support risk management across all roads projects. Support the management of the detailed project specific programmes. Support the management of roads and transport planning support of the Implementation team (see implementation mandate for details) Support the management of document control across all of roads and transport planning. Support design management across all roads projects to ensure consistency of approach, including standardisation of policies and processes, advice notes ir guidance documents as necessary. Support the implementation of smart elements (as defined by the Smart City team) across all roads projects and within each district transport plan. Support the implementation of ITS elements across all roads projects and within each district transport plan. Support the management of project survey data across all of roads and transport planning. Support the management of project environmental data across all of roads and transport planning. Support the management of project environmental approvals across all of roads and transport planning. Support stakeholder interface across all roads projects, both internally and externally, including the formalisation of briefs, implementation of the briefs and subsequent sign offs required for any successful gateways or governance approvals. Lead an integrated approach to project delivery, providing support where required. Manage the collation of inputs from the appropriate teams so as to have a full understanding of construction sequencing and methods that input into any programme. Support the handover of roads projects as necessary. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (Master's degree preferred). Minimum of 13 - 18 years of experience in road design and civil engineering, with significant experience in a leadership role. Proven track record of successfully managing road infrastructure projects from conception to completion. Strong knowledge of design software and tools related to road design, such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, or similar. Familiarity with local and international road design standards and regulations. Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, capable of motivating and developing a team. Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on innovative solutions for complex challenges. Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage stakeholders effectively.
