As a Senior Communication Project Engineer with over 15 years of experience, you will provide strategic leadership and technical expertise in the design, execution, and management of complex communication systems and projects. Your role will involve overseeing multi-disciplinary teams, managing large-scale projects, and ensuring successful delivery in alignment with KBR’s standards for quality, safety, and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership: Lead large-scale communication engineering projects with a focus on system design, network infrastructure, and advanced communication technologies. Act as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders. Project Management Excellence: Take responsibility for full project life cycle management, from initial planning and design through to implementation, testing, and commissioning. Monitor project timelines, costs, and resource allocation, ensuring compliance with budget and schedule. Team Management: Lead and mentor a diverse team of engineers, providing direction and technical guidance. Foster an environment of continuous learning and collaboration across all levels. Client Relations: Establish strong working relationships with key clients and external partners. Anticipate client needs, propose solutions, and ensure customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle. Innovation and Optimization: Identify opportunities for process improvement, incorporating new technologies and best practices in communication systems to drive project efficiency and innovation. Compliance & Safety: Ensure projects meet regulatory, safety, and industry standards. Establish and enforce safety protocols to maintain a secure working environment. Complex Problem-Solving: Apply in-depth technical knowledge to solve complex communication-related issues, including troubleshooting network failures, optimizing system performance, and designing scalable solutions for future needs. Quality Assurance & Documentation: Oversee the creation and maintenance of comprehensive project documentation, including technical specifications, compliance reports, and test results. Ensure all deliverables meet KBR’s high-quality standards. Risk Management: Proactively identify project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and implement corrective actions to address potential delays or technical issues. Stakeholder Reporting: Provide regular progress reports to senior management, highlighting key milestones, risks, and resource requirements. Lead project reviews with stakeholders to ensure alignment with project goals and objectives. Requirements Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Communication Engineering, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field. Experience: Minimum of 15 years of experience in communication engineering, including significant experience in managing large, multi-disciplinary projects in a senior role. Technical Expertise: Proven track record of designing, implementing, and optimizing advanced communication systems (including fiber optics, satellite, wireless, or other telecommunication technologies). Proficiency in network design, communication protocols, and troubleshooting. Project Management: Extensive experience managing large-scale projects with high budgets, including advanced project scheduling, cost control, risk management, and resource allocation. Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team management skills, with a demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and work collaboratively with stakeholders. Client-Facing Experience: Excellent client-facing and communication skills, with experience in managing client relationships and understanding customer needs. Industry Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of relevant communication industry standards, regulations, and technologies. Expertise in regulatory compliance for large-scale communication systems. Problem-Solving & Innovation: A track record of innovative solutions to complex communication challenges, including designing robust and scalable communication infrastructures. Certifications (preferred): PMP (Project Management Professional), PMI (Project Management Institute) or equivalent certifications.
