The U.S. Diversity Visa Lottery program has strict eligibility requirements to ensure fairness in selection. The main requirements that must be met to increase chances of acceptance are: 1. Educational Qualification or Work Experience The principal applicant must meet one of the following two criteria: Have a high school diploma or equivalent (12 years of completed education). Have at least two years of work experience within the last five years in an occupation requiring at least two years of training or experience, as defined by the U.S. Department of Labor's ONET database classification. 2. Geographic Eligibility Applicants must be natives of a country listed among those with low rates of immigration to the United States, which is updated annually. Countries from which more than 50,000 people have immigrated to the U.S. in the past five years are excluded. 3. Digital Photo Requirements The photograph is one of the most important application requirements and must be: Recent: Taken within the last six months. Specifications: White background, full face frontal view (without glasses), image dimensions between 600x600 and 1200x1200 pixels, and file size no larger than 240 kilobytes.
