A Leading Talent Acquisition Company in Saudi Arabia a leading talent acquisition consultancy, is seeking a Field Technician specializing in Terrestrial Ecology for a prominent project in Saudi Arabia. As a Field Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting environmental studies and assessments related to terrestrial ecosystems. This position will involve field data collection, habitat assessments, and collaboration with a team of ecologists and environmental scientists. Key responsibilities include: Ability to accurately identify birds and mammals to species level, specifically those found in southern Saudi Arabia. Significant experience in designing, planning, and implementing terrestrial field surveys. Familiarity with various census techniques, particularly camera trapping and bird census techniques (point counts and line transects). Some experience in small mammal trapping is required. Proficient in setting up remote camera traps, downloading, and securely storing the associated data. Strong experience in writing scientific reports, with an emphasis on clear and professional communication in English. Experience with data management, including the ability to analyze and present data effectively. Experience in managing other field staff, ensuring coordination and efficiency during surveys. Demonstrable competence in using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for spatial analysis and mapping. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with team members and stakeholders. Must be physically fit and capable of undertaking fieldwork in a mountainous environment. Willingness and availability to stay in Abha for the full duration of the contract. Fluent in English (spoken and written). Requirements A BSc degree in Biology or a related field such as Conservation Science, Ecology, or Environmental Management. A valid KSA (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia) driving license. At least five years of experience in ecology or nature conservation, with a strong understanding of ecological principles and practices. Experience with various field ecology methodologies, including walking transects, point counts, camera trapping, and small mammal trapping. Proficient in the identification of Arabian fauna, particularly birds and mammals, with a focus on species common in the region Excellent organizational and communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment. Familiarity with data analysis software and GIS is a plus.
