Agatha Christie is attributed to have said: "I get the ideas for my detective novels while washing dishes; because this silly task involuntarily pushes you to think about murder." Have you ever laughed at a text or a poem, or felt that a philosopher was writing a joke? In this session, we will discuss what it means for mockery to sneak between the pages of a book or behind a philosopher's glasses, even in our casual words and ordinary situations. We will bring together Al-Jahiz, who mocks the misers, and Nietzsche, who mocks existence, all the way to neighborhood jokes and social media. We will try to understand why we laugh in the first place.. Come with the beauty of your souls and the spontaneity of your hearts. Session Presenter: Amin Shachoud Session Fee: 20 Riyals in cash or via stcpay Please arrive 10 minutes before the session We look forward to seeing you and meeting you
