Bilateral Discussion: Reputation and Public Opinion on the Balance, Should I Not Care About It?

In our societies, reputation and what others say are among the most important drivers of behavior for the majority of individuals, and among the main deterrents preventing them from engaging in many actions, even if they are convinced of them. Here, the individual considers "others" to such an extent that it may exceed self-consideration, from daily behaviors to life-changing decisions. Many of us do not necessarily view this as negative, given that humans are inherently "social beings," and therefore, it is not entirely within their control to disregard others' opinions about themselves. We will discuss this matter from entirely different dimensions, attempting to dive deep into the idea to broaden our perspectives and express our thoughts in a space free from stigma and classifications. Discussion Method: Each person will discuss the topic with another person for 9-10 minutes to hear more transparent and honest ideas, then move to another person until six rounds are completed.
