Job Purpose: We are seeking a highly skilled Private Cloud Operations Engineer with expertise in VMware and VMware Cloud Director (VCD) stack to design, implement, and support private cloud solutions for our managed services clients. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of private cloud infrastructure, virtualization technologies, and managed service operations. This role demands technical proficiency, strong problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills to deliver innovative cloud solutions and seamless service delivery. Key Responsibilities: Cloud Infrastructure Design & Implementation Architect and deploy VMware-based private cloud solutions, including vSphere, vSAN, NSX, NSX-T and VMware Cloud Director (VCD). Integrate VMware products with existing IT environments to ensure scalability and reliability. Service Operations & Management Manage day-to-day operations of private cloud environments, ensuring optimal performance and uptime. Monitor and maintain the VCD stack, including upgrades, patches, and troubleshooting. Create and maintain detailed documentation for architecture, processes, and configurations. Implement and manage backup and recovery solutions to ensure data protection and availability. Establish and manage monitoring systems to proactively identify and resolve performance and operational issues. Oversee patching and upgrading of private cloud infrastructure to maintain compliance, security, and optimal performance. Client Engagement & Solution Delivery Work closely with clients to understand their business requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Provide expertise in private cloud migrations and workload optimizations. Serve as a point of escalation for critical issues, ensuring timely resolution and communication. Automation & Optimization Develop automation scripts and workflows using VMware tools like vRealize Orchestrator and PowerCLI. Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Collaboration & Training Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including storage, networking, and security experts, to deliver integrated solutions. Provide training and mentorship to junior team members and clients’ technical teams.   Required Skills & Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering. Technical Expertise: Extensive experience with VMware vSphere, vSAN, and VMware Cloud Director (VCD). Proficiency in VMware automation tools (e.g., Aria Suite, PowerCLI). Strong understanding of networking (e.g., NSX, NSX-T, VLANs, routing, firewalls) and storage solutions (SAN/NAS). Hands-on experience with hybrid and multi-cloud environments is a plus. Certifications: VMware certifications such as VCP-DCV, VCAP-DCV, or VMware Cloud Management certifications are highly preferred. Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong written and verbal communication abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure in a client-facing role. Experience: Preferred banking experience 9+ years of experience in private cloud environments with a focus on VMware technologies. Prior experience in managed services or consulting environments is an advantage. Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with cloud-native technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, Tanzu). Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Ansible). Experience with IaC tools (Terraform, Cloud Formation, CI/CD Pipeline). Knowledge of ITIL frameworks and service management best practices.
