Technical expert in the film industry

General Job Purpose: Provide specialized technical expertise in the field of film to support the technical evaluation of film projects submitted to the fund, contribute to improving the quality of funding applications, and ensure their alignment with established criteria and objectives. Key Responsibilities and Duties: a. Technical Tasks: · Evaluate funding applications from a technical perspective, including: - Analyzing scripts, texts, and creative content - Reviewing production plans and project timelines - Assessing the technical capabilities of applicant teams (directors, writers, producers, etc.) · Prepare detailed technical recommendations to support funding decisions b. Contribution to Standards and Procedures Development: · Develop and update technical evaluation criteria in line with international best practices and specific requirements · Support the preparation of a funding application guideline (when needed) c. Reporting and Presentations: · Participate in preparing periodic technical reports (monthly, quarterly, final) · Support the team in preparing presentations for committees, beneficiaries, and investors d. Training and Capacity Building: · Support knowledge transfer to the team regarding technical aspects of filmmaking · Participate in awareness sessions and technical workshops when necessary Requirements: Educational Qualifications: · Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in one of the following fields: film production, directing, screenwriting, media, or visual arts · Professional certifications or advanced studies related to the film industry are preferred Professional Experience: · Minimum of 5 years of practical experience in the film industry or film production · Proven experience in evaluating creative projects, production management, or creative consultancy · Comprehensive knowledge of the local, regional, and international film production market Required Skills: · Strong ability to technically and critically assess creative content · Excellent skills in technical analysis and report writing · Strong communication and presentation skills, both oral and written, in Arabic and English · In-depth understanding of all stages of film production (Pre-production, Production, Post-production)
