Water recited upon is water on which the Holy Quran and prophetic supplications have been recited, with the intention of seeking healing and protection from illnesses, the evil eye, and envy. It is permissible to drink this water or use it for washing. It has been authentically reported that the Prophet (peace be upon him) recited incantations over water and then poured it over Thabit ibn Qays. One gallon of water recited upon—good health will be seen after drinking it and using it for washing. The water is also available mixed with sidr (lote tree).
