Bashar Alaeddin is a versatile multimedia content producer and professional photographer. After earning his photography degree from London in 2005, he worked for a production company for three years. In 2009, Bashar left Canada to continue his studies and obtained an advanced certification from the Vancouver Film School. Upon returning to Amman, he launched his own studio named "Lenses," where he began his journey in cinematography, editing, animation, and visual branding. Lenses has since become a trusted agency for numerous local and international clients, specializing in projects spanning food, fashion, and advertising.

A recent interview with Bashar offered deeper insight into his life, career journey, and his perspective on what it takes to succeed as a photographer.

1. What does a typical day in your life look like?

There’s nothing particularly unique about my days. I don’t follow a fixed routine because my work changes daily. While some people prefer consistency in their schedules, I enjoy keeping things dynamic and unpredictable—it keeps everything fresh and engaging.

2. How do you balance your work and personal life?

It’s challenging to maintain a healthy balance between my personal life and work, especially since my job is so fluid and deeply intertwined with my identity. I’m constantly working—even when at home, I’m checking social media or reviewing projects.

3. How do you define success?

To me, success means exceeding expectations. I believe in small commitments and unexpected outcomes. When you push yourself to the absolute limit while executing a task and deliver exceptional results, you’re on the verge of achieving your best work.

4. What obstacles have you faced in your professional journey, and how did you overcome them?

I don’t see obstacles—I see challenges. Every challenge is surmountable with determination. For example, if a client asks me to handle a project beyond my current expertise, I dedicate myself to learning what I don’t know and deliver the best possible outcome. Always be ready to step outside your comfort zone—each new experience expands your capabilities.

5. What qualities should an ambitious person possess to achieve success?

Curiosity! Stay endlessly curious—this trait is invaluable. Never let boredom settle in. Even during free time, I actively seek new experiences and creative outlets. Success isn’t just about ambition; it’s about loving what you do so much that you work tirelessly without feeling like you’re working at all.

6. What advice would you give to aspiring photographers in the Middle East?

Always carry your camera with you and take as many photos as possible. Experiment with everything—even things that don’t interest you. Over time, you’ll identify what truly inspires you and focus on mastering those areas.
